Company Profile

Contexxa Corporation is a New Jersey based professional services organization developing automated solutions for core Human Resources business processes, including recruiting, training and outplacement. Founded in 1987 by John Porter, Contexxa Corporation has over 15 years of experience in developing "best of breed" custom software solutions for Fortune 1000 companies, the United States Government, educational institutions, and middle market businesses.

From 1994 to 2001, the Company, working in partnership with Litton-PRC, led the design and development effort for the Army Career Alumni Program (ACAP) automation project. This project, known as the "ACAP XXI System", is currently used to deliver training, management, and reporting services to transitioning service members and their families at US Army career transition centers located throughout the world. The core technologies of InterviewConnect!TM , Contexxa's flagship product, are based upon systems originally developed for the Army's ACAP automation project.

Our corporate philosophy stresses substance as opposed to style, with the focus on performance, and not "flash." Our proven design and development methodologies ensure that our customers realize the highest possible return on their automation investments.

Management

John Porter
Founder & CEO

Mr. Porter is the founder and chief executive of Contexxa Corporation. He has over two decades of experience in designing and developing interactive recruiting, training, and reporting systems for Fortune 1000 companies and the United States Government.

Prior to founding Contexxa, Mr. Porter served as a computer based training and e-learning strategist and consultant to Fortune 1000 corporations, primarily in the educational, telecommunications, and financial industries. He has over twenty years of experience as a designer and systems architect of electronic learning, training, and reference systems. His clients included AT&T, Army-Air Force Exchange System, Bank of Montreal, NYNEX, Shearson-Lehman, National Westminster Bank, and Paine-Webber.

Mr. Porter received a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts degree from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey.

Michael F. Smith
Senior Vice President


Mr. Smith founded M.F. Smith and Associates, a respected, award winning business and technology consulting firm based in Morristown, NJ. With over 100 employees, MFS&A provided support to senior executives and corporations of all sizes in a variety of areas, including business visioning, design and planning; organization and project assessment; strategic / tactical planning; process, function and technology re-design, development and implementation. MFS&A was acquired by J.H. Cohn LLP in 2003. 

Currently, Mr. Smith serves as a strategic business consultant to a number of regional technology and manufacturing firmsMr. Smith is Sn possesses a strong background in strategy, management practices, business operations, change-management, organization development, information science & technology applied to a wide range of industries. Strengths include ability to observe, analyze, diagnose and effectively resolve issues hindering effective strategy formulation or execution of business operations.
